A heavy steel moldboard gathers the scarified material after liquid application and conveys it into a center windrow, mixing the recycling agent into the recycled material as it moves it to the center windrow.

The windrow of recycled material is redistributed in front of a 4-section recycling screed that lays the recycled material as a leveling course while it is still 200 degrees F. The new hot mix overlay is applied immediately to achieve the monolithic bond between the recycled and new overlay.
