Silverthorne, Colorado saves $500,000 on roadwork (Commercial precedes video segment) SILVERTHORNE - When times are tight, many often forgo buying new things, choosing instead to hang onto those older items a little longer. That's certainly the case with the town of Silverthorne's Public Works Department. After 30 years in the road business, Silverthorne Assistant Public Works Director Brent Bowles admits he's no artist. "I probably couldn't draw a dump truck if I had to," Bowles said. Still when he talks about an asphalt recycling process the town has been using and saving money with, he gets so excited he has to pick up a marker and start working the dry erase board to illustrate the process. |
